Real wood
Solid hardwood is a long-lasting floor with real grain and warmth, and it can be sanded and refinished later. It fits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and stairs.
Florida tip: wood moves with humidity. Keep the A/C steady and let the planks settle in the house before they go down.
Water-resistant
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) gives you the look of wood with a top layer that shrugs off water and daily wear. A good fit for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and busy family areas.
Florida tip: LVP is water-resistant on top, but the subfloor underneath still has to be flat and dry. Mention your subfloor when you ask for a quote.
Wood look
Laminate gives you a wood look that usually costs less than hardwood, and it goes down fast as a floating floor. It works well in bedrooms, offices and living areas.
Florida tip: laminate does not like standing water. Keep it out of bathrooms and wipe up spills quickly, especially in the wet months.
Classic pattern
Herringbone sets the planks in a zigzag pattern that gives a room a finished, custom look. It stands out in entryways, living rooms and bedrooms.
